Forget Nainggolan, Roma tells Man Utd and other clubs

Monchi has already tied up deals for Lorenzo Pellegrini, Hector Moreno, Rick Karsdorp and Maxime Gonalons since leaving Sevilla at the end of last term to take up a similar position in Rome.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, Leandro Paredes and Federico Ricci have moved on, with Nainggolan another whose future has been the topic of intense speculation in recent weeks.
The 29-year-old midfielder was said to be considering his options while on holiday after being linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan, but Monchi moved to dispel the exit rumours at the unveiling of Gonalons on Saturday.

Asked at the press conference whether Nainggolan was staying put, he replied: "Yes (he will stay). I think we've seen the last of the big departures from our club.

"Now it's time to build a team, which will be supplemented with potential purchases in the transfer market."

The Belgium international has twice come up short with the Giallorossi in the race for the Scudetto, and new head coach Eusebio Di Francesco will be tasked with beating Juve to the line in 2017/18.
