Ronaldo scores brace to secure first win against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

Real Madrid started the game with a sloppy play with the Blancos losing possession in key areas as Dortmund enjoyed a lot of possessions in the early minutes of the game as they looked more composed in all departments.


A brilliant chance for Dani Carvajal in the 9th minute to square the ball in for Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale but he decided to take the shoot but save from Borussia Dortmund keeper. Dortmund was also fortunate not to have conceded from Gareth Bale shot from a sublime pass from Ronaldo.

Real Madrid made a goal-line clearance goal line by Sergio after Keylor Navas has been beaten from a cross by Dortmund player in the 13th minute. Bale put Los Blancos ahead in the 17th minute from a brilliant cross from Carvajal cross. A good chance in the 26th minute for Real Madrid fell on the path of Bale but the Dortmund keeper made a cool save.

Bale was given a yellow card in the 28th minute for a rough aerial challenge on Dortmund player. Aubameyang missed a chance in the 29th minute to put Dortmund ahead but his effort was blocked by Ramos. Aubameyang effort was blocked by Carvajal in the 32nd minute.

Carvajal was shown a yellow card for pulling a Dortmund player that resulted in a free kick in the box area by the kick was smashed against the wall while Modric was shown a yellow card for his protest against the referee.

Ronaldo attempted a shot in the area but his effort was blocked by Dortmund defender and Ramos missed a beautiful heading to double Real Madrid’s lead. Real Madrid ended the first half with a 1-0 advantage but a Ronaldo quickly doubled Real Madrid’s lead at the start of the second half through a pass from Bale.

Aubameyang scored in the 54th for the German giant. Isco missed a brilliant chance to score the third for Real Madrid in the 70th minute.  Isco was replaced in the 75th minute with Marco Asensio, Ronaldo scored the third for Real Madrid in the 70th minute to earn himself a brace.

Dortmund goalkeeper was kept busy all the second half as parred a Sergio Ramos header in the close of the game. The win marks Real Madrid first win against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
