Chelsea to wrap up Chamberlain's Deal

Chelsea have agreed a fee with fellow Premier League side Arsenal for the services of midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports. The 24-year-old is away on international duty with Gareth Southgate’s England side and large parts of the medical could be carried out at St George’s Park.

Reports claims that the Blues have come to an agreement with the Gunners over a fee after Chamberlain held talks over his future at the Emirates.

Chamberlain, who is in the last year of his contract at Arsenal, was also reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool this summer but looks likely to remain in London after considering a move to Stamford bridge.

The news will come as another blow to Arsene Wenger with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil also out of contract at the end of the current campaign, while the Frenchman is coming under increasing pressure after their 4-0 loss to Liverpool.

Wenger has always maintained that he would like to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain at the club but reports suggested recently that Oxlade-Chamberlain turned down a new contract worth £180,000-a-week.
