Demba Ba joins Shanghai Shenhua
Senegal striker Demba Ba waves to fans on his arrival at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The former Chelsea marksman reportedly signed a three-year deal worth 16 million euros (US$17.9 million) with Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, according to Xinhua news agency. The 30-year-old, who moved from Turkish side Besiktas, was to undergo a medical to finalize the move, the Chinese Super League side confirmed. Ba will be the second 'foreign' signing by Shenhua after the former Liverpool and Juventus midfielder Mohamed Lamine Sissoko joined the club on Thursday. Ba scored a career-high 27 goals in 44 appearances for Besiktas last season. He spent more than a year at Chelsea after signing from English Premier League rival Newcastle United in 2013, scoring 14 goals.
