According to reports, The Spanish giants are growing increasingly frustrated with Bale's constant grappling with injury to the extent that they are prepared to offload him next summer.
The Wales international is currently out of action with yet another calf injury - the eighth he has suffered since moving to the Bernabeu in 2013.
Bale hasn't played for Madrid since the 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund last month - as he continues to be plagued by injuries at the Bernabeu.
Jose Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of the three-time Champions League winner, and was desperate to bring him to Old Trafford to hand him the famous No. 7 jersey.
While the Blues have also been linked with a move for the ex-Southampton star, but Bale is rumoured to be willing to reject both clubs in favour of the Lilywhites.
