Fernando Joins Galatasary

This summer transfer window truly has been a real overhaul of the Manchester City squad, with many signings and many departures. And the latest to leave is midfielder Fernando, who’s joined Galatasaray.

The Turkish club has paid City a £4.75 million fee to complete the deal, and there’s a possible £812,000 in performance bonuses. Fernando joined City from Porto in 2014 and helped the club win the 2016 League Cup.

The Brazilian wasn’t the most technical member of the City midfield, but he was key in City’s run to the Champions League semifinal last year with his ability to shield the back four.

Fernando spoke to City’s website about his time at the club: It’s been a pleasure to play for Manchester City. The Club has looked after me incredibly well throughout my time here and I have enjoyed the challenge of playing for a top team in probably the world’s toughest league. The League Cup success of 2016 was a highlight for me and something I will never forget.
