Chelsea prepare £35m bid for chamberlain

Chelsea are  ready to raid Arsenal with a £35m bid for midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the transfer deadline, according to reports. The Blues are to make a fresh offer for the England international as they look to try and lure him away from The Emirates.

The same story says that Oxlade-Chamberlain has already informed Arsene Wenger that he doesn’t plan to sign a new contract at the club, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season. The article also says that the midfielder’s decision is not about money as the 24-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from The Emirates.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has started both of Arsenal’s last two Premier League games but has been deployed in a wing-back role in recent months. Antonio Conte is thought to still be on the lookout for a number of new signings before the close of the summer transfer window next Thursday.

The Blues have so far brought in Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata. Chelsea are getting ready to host Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, while Arsenal are preparing for a trip up north to take on Liverpool.
