AC Milan sign striker Borini on loan from Sunderland with a view to a future permanent move

On Friday, AC Milan signed Borini from Sunderland on loan with an obligation to buy, According to the Guardian's Louise Taylor.
The transfer is valued at £5.3 million (approximately €6 million), with £1 million (approximately €1.1 million) being paid up front as part of an initial one-year loan, and the rest to follow next summer when the deal becomes permanent.  Borini, who underwent medicals on Thursday, was apparently expected to join Lazio, but the Biancoceleste balked at meeting the Italian striker's wages of £35,000 per week. The footballer was limited to two goals and 24 appearances in the Premier League season because of an injury that lasted three months. After spending his youth at Bologna and Chelsea, Borini, a student of interior design, added Swansea City, Parma, AS Roma, and Liverpool to his resume, during which time he evolved from a striker into a winger. In 2016, after joining Sunderland, he spoke of feeling unnoticed, saying: "I call my role a blind job because people don't notice the work you're doing. I feel a bit like Thomas Muller at Bayern Munich - they pick him because he does a lot of blind jobs, which makes things easier for everyone else."
