Manchester United and AC Milan fighting over £60m Torino star Belotti

Manchester United and AC Milan are in a tug of war over Italy and Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports in Italy.

The Torino striker is one of the hottest commodities in Serie A, after scoring 31 times for club and country this season. And now the 23-year-old's club are trying to fend off bids from two of Europe's biggest clubs. A deal for Belotti could cost the Serie A side €70m (£60m) in transfer fees and wages combined, but Torino chairman Urbano Cairo is said to be keen to hold on to his star striker. Another option would be to sell Belotti abroad, with United likely to pay more for the Italian than a Serie A club. another Italian paper, also carry the story, which reports that Milan see Belotti as the heir to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.  The Manchester United striker spent two seasons in Milan, helping them win their most recent title back in 2011. A third Italian news outlet, Tuttosport, reports that United are already in talks with the player, with super-agent Jorge Mendes in Turin to negotiate on their behalf.
With a move for Antoine Griezmann apparently ruled out, Belotti could be United's own heir to Ibrahimovic, as they look to replace the injured striker.
