Tottenham crashed out of the Europa League as they failed to throw off their Wembley curse and get past Gent in the last 32. Christian Eriksen had put the home side ahead after just 10 minutes, but a Harry Kane own goal put the Belgian side level not long after, and handed Gent an away goal. Spurs' job was made significantly tougher when Dele Alli was sent off for a knee-high studs up tackle, but they continued to push on, and Victor Wanyama put them back ahead with a powerful shot with half an hour to play.
