Santi Cazorla believes that Arsenal
should target a new striker in this summer’s transfer window. Olivier Giroud led the line for Arsene Wenger’s side
last term, scoring 19 goals in 36 games while Danny Welbeck (eight goals in 37
games) and Theo Walcott (seven goals in 22 games) also filled the central role.
However, Welbeck and Walcott were also used in wide positions and Cazorla thinks the Gunners need another out-and-out striker.
“It’s a tough decision and it’s down to Mr Wenger to make
these decisions,” said the Arsenal midfielder. “My only hope is that whoever is
chosen will be somebody who can pump up the level of the team.
“When it comes to a position or who in particular we might
need somebody in Theo Walcott’s area. He’s not necessarily a true, true striker
so we might need somebody in his area.”
Although Cazorla thinks Arsenal need to strengthen up front,
he believes that the squad need to work
on their defence.
